He cooked wonderful dishes for television audiences everywhere, and if that wasn’t enough, he sang his way through all of it beautifully.
Pasquale Carpino, also known as the Singing Chef, passed away last week at the age of 69. Carpino, who was the host of one of the longest-running cooking shows on television, died on Dec. 30 of complications from surgery.
Carpino dazzled audiences with his wide array of dishes and ability to turn seemingly paltry ingredients into splendid cuisine. But what really endeared him to the masses was his beautiful voice and huge love of opera.

I remember every time when "Cooking With Chef Pasquale" came on my dad would do his rendition of an Italian opera. The Chef wasn't the only one who served up great meatballs.
