Can't sleep, so what the hell I said I would post some excerpts from my screenplays so here is my first. This is from something I wrote about three years ago called Black Crystal.
This epic follows the struggles of Dallas Black in his attempt to suppress the daemons that have plagued him since his internment in a prisoner of war camp by the new regime known as Horseman. The world is full of strife and chaos and it's future is in the hands of the Black Family.
Dallas, in his early twenties struggles to find his corner of the world that he can say is his.
EXT. POPS DELIVERS THE EULOGY - NIGHT
Pops lights a torch and steps towards the alter
POPS
Transcend my beloved and leave your human bonds.May your trip up the stairway to the heavens be as graceful as you were in life. And now great spirit, lift this finest of your creations onto your back and whisk her too her rightful place realm of white lights.
Pops tilts his torch and sets the alter on fire
INT. DALLAS GIVES HIS PARTING WORDS - NIGHT
Cheyanne finishes her parting words, Dallas begins his
CHEYANNE
...Goodbye dearest mother, may peace be with you.Thank you

These orchids and roses remind me how fragile life can be, even the most strong and resilient flowers in the garden of Eden could only last six days and nights in the hands of death.
POPS
She was wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin, in-law to us.To many more a good friend.We were all touched in many different ways by her generosity, love, kindness, unselfishness and purity.Lets all pray and help burn Moms legacy into the pages of the book of eternity
The circle one by one begins to disperse
INT. DALLAS GIVES HIS LAST THOUGHTS - NIGHT
The fire begins to dye.Dallas is the last person to leave the circle.He removes a black piece of cloth from his pocket and places it into the embers and watches it burn.He then places a spring of ivy, intertwined with a piece of barbed wire into the ashes.
DALLAS
(Whispering)
Life doesn't just end when you die, your life force is eternal as the Phoenix.Like the great indistinguishable bird born of fire, so too will the spirit of Mom live on in the souls of her charges.
Dallas walks away leaving one flame to fight to remain lit

Hi, all.
Well, this my first venture into the world of blogdom, so bare with me. Let me start my first entry with something about me and what the purpose of this blog will be about.
Firstly, my name is Kendall, I currently reside in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I've been doing background extra work in films since April of 2000. My first experience as part of Hollywood north's' some ten thousand pieces of 'moving wallpaper' was as a basketball game fan in the Sean Connery film, Finding Forester.
I was one of a thousand others walking up stairs and back hallways of Copp's Collesium (home of the American Hockey Leagues Hamilton Bulldogs). We were trying to create the buzz of fans of the New York Nicks.
Well let me tell you after twelve hours of watching guys with maybe YMCA summer camp skills throw brick after brick, it gets tough too keep up the 'acting'.
Anyway, my claim to fame that day was actually running into Sir Sean Connery, literally. The extras where instructed to walk down the left side of a very narrow corridor and hug the wall. Long story short I drifted a couple inches off the wall just as the fore mentioned Knight of Wales was making his descent down the corridor upstream from us. We bumped shoulders, he showed how much a true gentleman he is, said nothing, turned and we did it again. This time I kept over.
That was five years ago, since then I've logged more than 48,000km up and down the highway to Toronto, all most four hundred days on some one hundred thirty different feature films, television serials, MOW's and failed pilots.
In that time I've met some great people and some you would not want to meet in a dark alley.
To sum up this entry extra work is a great adventure, every set is different. One day you could be in a small studio with only a handful of other extras watching Catherine Zeta Jones (Chicago) wearing a small dress singing her guts out, the next day you can be stuck in an old grain silo in Oshawa, in the middle of winter wearing a Nazi Germany outfit(Death to Smoochy).
In the days to come I'll post regular updates about the film sets I'm on and share more what I hope are interesting stories from sets I've done.
In other news, by now you might be wondering what on earth the title of this blog means, well the eternal kenaz is a persona I created when I created my online radio station at www.live365.com. Kenaz is an easy going guy who just enjoys Old Time Radio programs and music from the Golden Age of radio. On Kenaz's Old time Radio you can hear more than seven hours of looped pre-programmed radio dramas, comedies and variety shows from the 1930's to the 1950's. Along with Fathers Knows Best and Dimension X you can listen to the golden vocals of Ella and Frank. I update every two to four days, depending on my schedule so tune in regularilly.
