Peace Memorial School

Peace Memorial Elementary School, located at 75 East 36th street at Crocket was a V-shaped two storey brick masonry building with a full basement level. The school was used as an elementary school for Grades Junior Kindergarten to Grade Five until June 2003, when this facility was closed. The original portion of the structure was reportedly built in 1918, containing a floor area of 11,707 square feet. Two subsequent additions were built in 1946 and 1949 containing floor areas of 11,490 square feet and 24,459 square feet. The total combined area of the building is 47,656 square feet. The buliding is being torn down and will be turned into park land by the city.
